As the 2023 college football season approaches, Michigan's running back, Blake Corum, is preparing for an extraordinary season with Michigan. Following a record-breaking performance with the Wolverines last year, Corum's surprising decision to return to Ann Arbor during the off-season has generated significant buzz across the nation about the potential of Michigan's offensive backfield in the upcoming 2023 season. Presently, all indications suggest that Corum is primed for another remarkable year, and he stands a chance to surpass a notable program record established during Jim Harbaugh's iconic era with the Wolverines back in the '80's.

As Jim Harbaugh enters his ninth season as the head coach of the Michigan football program, his tenure has proven to be highly successful for the team. With an impressive 74-25 overall record, Harbaugh has secured two Big Ten titles and guided the team to two College Football Playoff appearances. Additionally, he has helped create a Heisman Trophy finalist and fostered the development of several players who have earned All-Big Ten and All-American honors.

Running back Blake Corum emerged as one of the two Wolverines to receive the prestigious distinction of being a consensus unanimous first-team All-American. The other was center Olu Oluwatimi, who not only secured the Outland Trophy but also claimed the Joe Moore Award and the Rimington Award. Oluwatimi's remarkable achievements last year positioned him as the most decorated offensive lineman in the program's history.

Throughout Harbaugh's nine-year tenure, he has not yet witnessed a standout player earn consensus All-American honors on multiple occasions. However, with the return of Blake Corum, set to make a significant impact once again in Maize and Blue, alongside one of the most exceptional offensive lines in college football history, Corum stands poised to embark on another pursuit of first-team consensus All-American recognition. This achievement would not only elevate Corum's status but also establish a new program record within the Jim Harbaugh era.
